Job Description

Warehouse Supervisor – Arerti
Reporting to the Finance Manager,

the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including the efficient ordering, receiving, storage, and issuance of goods. The role ensures inventory accuracy, compliance with quality and safety standards, and timely reporting. By effectively managing warehouse processes, the supervisor supports operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effective business performance.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

The essential function of this position includes, but is not limited to:

Manage inventory control, receiving, storage, and issuing processes; maintain accurate records using ERP systems.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards through inspections, risk assessments, and enforcement of safety procedures.
Coordinate warehouse logistics, ensuring efficient movement, storage, and dispatch of goods.
Maintain warehouse facilities and equipment, and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse operations, inventory, purchasing activities, and staff performance.
Lead, train, and support warehouse staff to achieve operational and productivity targets.
Oversee receipt of imported and local purchases, verifying quantities and documentation (Packing List, Delivery Note, and purchase orders).
Report inventory discrepancies to Procurement and Finance and update stock records accordingly.
Monitor inventory levels, expiry dates (FEFO), and minimum stock levels to prevent shortages, overstocking, and waste.
Maintain accurate receiving, issuing, and audit documentation.
Coordinate seed receiving, storage, labeling, packing, and shipment activities.
Monitor export packing processes, ensuring correct labeling and compliance with company procedures.
Prepare cost build-ups for imports and local purchases.
Collaborate across teams and provide operational support during peak workload periods.

About the Position

The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge of Ethiopian customs procedures, particularly the Electronic Single Window (ESW) system, as well as practical experience in coordinating international shipments and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound logistics operations.
Manage international shipments, transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, customs authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
Handle and follow up on import and export procedures, including customs clearance and related documentation.
Utilize the Ethiopian Electronic Single Window (ESW) system and other relevant customs platforms.
Monitor inventory levels, stock movement, and ensure accurate inventory records.
Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documents, customs declarations, delivery notes, and other logistics records.
Track shipments and proactively resolve transportation, customs clearance, and delivery-related issues.
Ensure compliance with applicable customs regulations, company policies, and logistics procedures.
Monitor logistics costs, evaluate operational performance, and recommend cost-saving improvements.
Prepare regular logistics and inventory reports for management.

Conduct regular field visits to oversee field staff and client work.
Handle any immediate assignments or tasks assigned by management.
