About this role.

Premier Switch Solutions S.C. (PSS) is a pioneer Electronic Payment Processing Company, established by major private banks of Ethiopia and working for the vision of Driving Digital Solutions for all. The Company has implemented the first multi-institution shared-switch infrastructure to provide its member banks with a state of the art payment technology to drive ATM, POS, e-commerce, Mobile Banking and other payment channels and provide clearing of Debit/Credit card transactions for the banks.

Currently, PSS has a vacant position stated below and would like to invite applicants who meet the qualification and required experience listed for this job opening.

Description of Duties

Implement the strategic direction of the Finance through financial model.
Develop policies, procedures and process documents for the Finance and manage in their implementation through continuous review.
Provision of financial advice to the management through guiding in financial decision making to monitor and enforce appropriate financial policies and procedures.
Prepare periodic financial statements and supporting schedules for internal and external users as per accounting policies and procedures.
Manage the preparation of annual financial budgets and any revision thereof through the collection of divisional and departmental budgets to align them to the corporate strategic plan.
manage the implementation or upgrading of appropriate financial accounting systems.
Manage the annual audit process in conjunction with the internal audit team and ensure statutory accounts are produced within the required deadlines.
Undertake a continuous analysis of costs, pricing, sales results and the organization’s actual performance compared to the business plans & budget to enable informed financial decision making.
Strengthen internal controls through the review of processes to ensure financial transactions are in-compliance with the accounting policies procedures and laws.
Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the organization should take.
Request, confirm and approves payments up to the limit set by management.
Ensure access control to different parts of an accounting system, checks and documents via passwords, lockouts and electronic access logs to keep unauthorized users from having access to such documents and financial systems.
Process and ensure payment of wages and salaries for staff and casuals timely.
Review bank reconciliation statements through follow up of reconciling items to ensure correct and accurate cash balance.
Review payment requests for the service provided and follow-up timely collections.
Review the correctness of different payments to vendors.
Ensure the periodic the reconciling of fixed assets with accounting record.
Work closely with different work units in the group.
Conduct performance metrics.
Provide training, coaching and mentoring of employees within the unit towards effective career development.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

The Finance and Compliance Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of the projects. This position will be responsible for financial management, compliance monitoring, and reporting. The lead will work closely with the project team, stakeholders, and donors to ensure smooth financial operations and adherence to all relevant regulations and policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure compliance of all financial transactions including administrative and project with all relevant laws, regulations, and donor requirements.
Supervise day to day accounting and reporting in order to maintain accurate financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure proper filing of documents by archiving, organizing, and updating financial documents both in hard and soft formats.
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Oversee and manage financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations.
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Monitor and control expenses to ensure adherence to budget guidelines.
Review and ensure accuracy of all the financial data entered and timely closure of the accounts every month.
Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions.
In close coordination with the project team, prepare the monthly cash forecast and cash request for all projects to ensure cash flow.
Overlook petty cash transactions, including receiving, disbursing, and reconciling petty cash funds by the accountant.
Process payments directly to suppliers, other vendors and other agencies.
Develop and implement internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
Conduct monthly internal thorough audit due diligence and report to management.
Participate in project meetings to review financial status and assist in decision-making related to budgeting and expenditures.
Respond to inquiries from donors and auditors in a timely and professional manner.
Serve as the primary liaison between the project team, stakeholders, and finance departments.
Communicate effectively with project team members to ensure financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
Coordinate with external auditors and consultants to facilitate smooth audits and reviews.
Detect and report to management any irregularity and/or major audit finding that required special attention or management action.
Provide financial guidance and training to project staff, ensuring proper implementation of financial procedures.
Assist in the procurement process, including selection, purchase order generation, and invoice verification.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions.
Perform any other related task as may be assigned
