Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of nurses across all departments.
- Assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Mentor junior nurses and support staff in clinical and professional development.
2. Quality Assurance & Standards Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Ethiopian Ministry of Health nursing care standards and hospital protocols.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care and implement improvements.
- Lead infection prevention and patient safety initiatives.
- Administrative Duties
- Prepare duty rosters, leave schedules, and performance reports.
- Participate in hospital management meetings and policy development.
- Manage nursing supplies and ensure proper use of equipment.
4. Training & Capacity Building
- Organize in-service training and continuing education for nursing staff.
- Support the implementation of new clinical guidelines and technologies.
5. Patient Advocacy & Communication
- Promote patient-centered care and uphold patient rights.
- Serve as a communication bridge between patients, families, and healthcare teams.
