 JOB PURPOSE

Our sister company, Daily Mini Mart, is seeking a Supermarket Manager to oversee daily store operations, drive sales and profitability, manage staff and inventory, and ensure excellent customer service and compliance with company standards. The position requires a proactive leader with strong commercial awareness, excellent people management skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.

 KEY RESPOSIBILITIES

• Manage daily supermarket operations and ensure smooth store performance.
• Supervise, motivate, and manage staff and work schedules.
• Monitor sales, stock levels, ordering, and product availability.
• Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints.
• Maintain store cleanliness, product presentation, and safety standards.
• Monitor cash handling, expenses, and daily sales reports.
• Coordinate with suppliers and ensure timely stock replenishment.

Job Purpose

A cashier in most retail stores and markets involves everything that has to do with the final point of sale, including collecting payment, making change, scanning a customer’s items and printing receipts.

Cashier Key Responsibilities

• Receive payment by check, credit cards, cash, vouchers, or automatic debits
• Issue refunds, credits, receipts, or change due to customers
• Maintain orderly and clean checkout areas
• Tabulate bills using calculators
• Resolve customer complaints
• Answer customers’ questions
• Cash checks for customers
• Calculate payments received during sales and reconcile this with total sales
• Keep periodic numbers of transactions and balance sheets of amounts
• Compile non-monetary records and reports
• Monitor checkout stations
• Make sure checkout stations are staffed appropriately
• Post charges against customer’s accounts
• Help customers carry out their goods at the completion of transactions when necessary.

We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Retail Manager to oversee our retail operations in Addis Ababa. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership and operational expertise with a passion for sales and customer service. You will lead, train, and motivate store staff, manage inventory and daily operations, and execute strategic sales initiatives to drive foot traffic and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, supervise, and coach store staff to achieve sales targets; evaluate employee performance and provide actionable feedback; manage scheduling and time tracking.
• Store Operations Management: Oversee daily opening/closing procedures, maintain high standards of store visual presentation and cleanliness, and enforce company policies to maintain a safe, secure environment.
• Sales & Marketing Execution: Develop and execute sales strategies, in-store events, and promotions; monitor sales performance trends and adjust tactics to maximize profitability and foot traffic.
• Inventory & Financial Control: Manage stock levels and merchandise ordering; oversee store budgets and expenses; ensure accurate cash handling and POS operations; prepare detailed sales, expense, and inventory reports.
• Customer Experience: Drive a customer-centric environment by handling inquiries, resolving complaints efficiently, monitoring customer feedback, and continuously improving service standards.
