Job description
Green Scene Energy PLC is a women-led Ethiopian clean energy company. We design, supply and install solar power for hospitals, schools, farms, businesses and communities across Ethiopia, and we manufacture the TOLO induction cookstove in Addis Ababa. Our clients include international NGOs, embassies and private industry.
We are hiring an IT and Systems Manager to own every system the company runs on: Google Workspace and company email, all computers and phones, the office network and Wi-Fi at our Addis office and TOLO facility, CCTV, printers and copiers, our website, our Jotform forms, and the AI tools the company is adopting. There is no IT team yet. You do the work, set the standards and build the function.
Duties and responsibilities
- Company email, accounts and shared drives for every employee, from first day to last
- All computers, phones, printers and copiers: set up, maintained, replaced on a cycle, with spares
- Internet and Wi-Fi at two sites with failover, so nobody discovers an outage before you do
- CCTV: cameras recording, footage kept and released under a written rule
- The website, the Jotform forms and the automations between our tools
- A helpdesk with same-day response and short staff training when tools change
- The IT budget, vendors and licences
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software or Electrical and Computer Engineering
- At least five years running IT for an organisation of 30 or more people, with at least two years as the person accountable
- Hands-on Google Workspace administration including migration from personal Gmail (tested)
- Hands-on office network, Wi-Fi, CCTV and printer management (tested)
- WordPress or similar website platform, and Jotform or a similar forms tool
- Has written a procedure people actually followed; explains technical decisions plainly in English and Amharic
Certificates in Google Workspace, networking, CCTV, cybersecurity or AI tools are an advantage, as is having automated a workflow between two tools without a developer.

GREEN SCENE ENERGY PLC
Job Description: Solar Installation Engineer (Site)
Purpose
Green Scene is building the site teams for a run of solar PV and battery projects: hospitals and health centres in Gambella and Somali regions, schools, embassies, factories and solar water pumping schemes. This seat installs. The engineer is on site with the tools, leading a small crew, wiring strings, mounting structures, installing battery banks, configuring inverters, commissioning and handing over, and keeping the site safe and the client informed. Sites are often remote and the engineer is away from Addis for weeks at a time.
Responsibilities
- Install PV arrays, mounting structures, DC and AC wiring, earthing and lightning protection to the design and to standard
- Install and configure inverters and battery systems (MUST, Growatt, Victron, Sungrow and others) and solar water pumps
- Lead a crew of technicians and labourers on site: daily plan, quality, safety, tools and materials
- Testing, commissioning, handover documentation and training the client's staff
- Daily site report with photos; problems called in early, not after they become expensive
- Site safety: toolbox talks, working at height, electrical isolation, no exceptions
- Tools and materials: signed out, accounted for, returned

- Hands-on configuration and commissioning of hybrid inverters and lithium battery systems
- Reads a single-line diagram and a BoQ and builds what they say
- Willing to work on sites anywhere in Ethiopia for weeks at a time
- Safe, careful, honest about problems; explains the system to a client in Amharic and English
Advantage
- Professional Engineer licence or COC certificate
- Driving licence for a pickup or 4x4
- High voltage lithium battery experience
- Solar water pump installation
- Manufacturer training on MUST, Growatt, Victron or Sungrow
