Project Officer - Future4Binti project - Countering Harmful Practices

The Opportunity 

PIE is seeking to recruit three experienced Project Officer to be based in Jigjiga, Somali Region, Ethiopia. The Project officer will work closely with contractual partners and government stakeholders to implement the Future4Binti project - Countering Harmful Practices. The Project Officers will offer grassroot level management and coordination of for the Countering Harmful Practices F4B Project (2026–2030), funded by the Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA). This project aims to strengthen local civil society organizations to prevent and respond to harmful practices including Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM), Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), teenage pregnancy, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the designated project implementation areas.

Working under the general guidance of the Future4Binti Project Coordinators, the Project Officers focuses on day-to-day implementation coordination, monitoring, and reporting of project activities within the assigned project locations, in line with approved plans, budgets, donor requirements, and Plan International Ethiopia policies and Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities that protect girls and prevent harmful practices.
• Strengthen the capacity of local partners, service providers, community structures, and civil society organizations through technical support, coaching, and training.
• Promote survivor-centered, child-friendly, gender-transformative, and rights-based approaches across all interventions.
• Coordinate closely with government offices, community groups, CSOs, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery, referral pathways, and community engagement.
• Facilitate meaningful participation of adolescents, youth, and children with disabilities in project activities.
• Support integration of safeguarding, disability inclusion, gender equality, youth participation, climate, and conflict sensitivity across project implementation.
• Conduct routine monitoring, collect and analyze project data, support reporting, and document lessons learned, best practices, and project achievements.
• Participate in multi-sectoral coordination platforms and contribute to strengthening partnerships and accountability mechanisms.
