Two-Day Capacity-Building Training on Governance, Disability-Inclusive MEAL and Internal Audit Readiness
1. Background
Strong organizational systems, accountable leadership, quality programme management, and sound financial controls are essential for Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and other consortium partners to effectively fulfil their mandates and contribute to the realization of the rights of persons with disabilities. Sustainable organizations require clear relationships between governance and management, transparent and accountable decision-making, reliable programme monitoring and learning systems, and effective internal financial controls.
As part of the Organizational Development activities of the project, the Human Rights and Organizational Development Thematic Area is facilitating a two-day capacity-building training aimed at strengthening the institutional and technical capacities of consortium partners. The training responds to identified capacity needs among Board members, management staff, programme staff, and finance personnel, with the intention of strengthening organizational systems and practices that support effective, accountable, and rights-based programming.
The training will bring together relevant personnel and provide tailored learning around their respective responsibilities. Board members and management staff will focus on governance, oversight, accountability, and the relationship between the Board and executive management. Programme staff will strengthen their capacity in disability-inclusive monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL), particularly in the ethical collection and use of disaggregated disability data. Finance personnel will focus on strengthening internal controls and improving organizational readiness to respond to internal audit requirements and recommendations.
