The Inventory Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock movements, conducting stock reconciliations and physical counts, controlling inventory losses, and ensuring that inventory records agree with warehouse and accounting records.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
- Monitor all stock receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier documents.
- Coordinate with Warehouse, Procurement, Sales, and Finance departments.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile results with system records.
- Investigate and report stock variances, shortages, damages, and losses.
- Monitor stock levels and identify slow-moving, fast-moving, and obsolete items.
- Prepare regular inventory movement and stock status reports.
- Ensure proper documentation and authorization for all inventory transactions.
- Monitor inventory valuation and coordinate with Finance on stock-related accounting.
- Assist in monitoring imported goods and landed-cost information where applicable.
- Review stock transfers between warehouses and ensure proper documentation.
- Support the implementation of effective inventory control procedures.
- Maintain proper inventory filing and documentation.
- Assist with periodic and annual stock-taking activities.
- Identify weaknesses in inventory control and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal control procedures.
